About Us

ChurchandGospel.com exists to help South Carolina churches to live out the gospel for Jesus’ glory. As a ministry of Charleston Southern University’s College of Christian Studies, we reflect our indebtedness to our Savior and His many churches by helping those who love Jesus to think and to live biblically.

Our doctrinal positions mark our close association with the churches of the South Carolina Baptist Convention and are best summed up by the faculty’s commitment to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and the Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. We believe that Southern Baptist churches and those in other biblically faithful churches can benefit from our common concern to preserve biblical doctrine and practice in a society that opposes our Savior and His Bride.

Our site’s content includes blogs, audio podcasts and event related information in three broad categories:

As part of a Christian university that exists to Integrate Faith in Learning, Leading and Serving, ChurchandGospel.com via the Scriptures brings clarity to the gospel and its implications for the church’s life in this fallen world. Indeed, we hope to clarify, proclaim, and amplify the knowledge of God and His gospel into every corner of life and into every discipline of learning.

To quote Paul’s letter to the Ephesians:

3:14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith- that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
